You guys have asked so now I deliver. Dictating a medical encounter is really easy using Google Documents and it’s free. The more often you use the software, the better it gets.
I use this free medical dictation trick for telemedicine encounters and can talk into my computer quickly with a high accuracy. Then, I cut and paste the entire document into the telemedicine platform and I’m done.
This is also effective when you have a text-based telemedicine visit and don’t want to type out every single reply. Google Documents is able to pick up all sorts of medical jargon which makes a standalone medical dictation software superfluous.

is google docs HIPAA compliant? Need BAA with Google? Thanks!

It’s important that you differentiate Google docs which is the end-consumer product and a free service from G Suite which is what a business entity should be using.
Many healthcare organizations use G Suite and when used properly not only can you have a BAA in place but the the use of Google Docs can be HIPAA compliant.
