Deep Work By Cal Newport
Overall a very interesting book to listen to. Definitely a must read for anyone who wants to be more efficient and recognize what constitutes “wasting time”and what gets them closer to their goal. The amount of effort he has put into researching his examples is impressive.
His main premise is that you don’t have to work more to get accomplished more. In fact, the opposite is true.
There are a lot of distractions in day-to-day life such as email and text messages. I feel that Cal did an excellent job telling us how best to deal with such interruptions effectively. Technology is still fairly new, having insightful individuals like Cal analyze how best to address such things is well worth him sharing it.
My favorite part was his analysis of the new economy and what young people need to master before entering this. I think this would be helpful for anyone with younger household members.
